Diet types

The Glycaemic Index Diet
The glycaemic index diet system is based around the gi index, a list showing types of food and an indicator of the speed with which the glucose and energy in the food gets converted to sugar in the dieters bloodstream. The claim is that slow acting food types (ie those with a low Gi number), keep you satisfied for a longer period of time and help you to eat fewer food without starving yourself.
It's also very good for folk with diabetes, as the low GI food types are beneficial in minimizing surges in glucose secretion.
